The Young Family Motor Cruiser is the first child-friendly motor yacht in the world. The motor yacht, painted in bright green and blue and decorated with cheerful pompeblêden (yellow pond-lilies (Nuphar lutea), national flower of Friesland), is entirely geared towards young families. The unique boat - with stern cabin - was developed based on a preliminary design of Albert Hendriks, the manager of the Friesland Holland tourism office.

The boat not only has children’s beds, a convenient diaper changing station, and a plethora of safety features, but also an extra-large non-skid swimming platform, a sun awning, and four bicycles on the stern. An ingenious construction enables sliding the innovative bicycles - from Batavus - out over the quay, so that father or mother do not have to break their back by lifting the bicycles. The boat is outfitted with children’s games, a gaming computer, and special pilot charts that guide the passengers to child-friendly destinations, play paradises, subtropical pools, and pancake restaurants. Thanks to the additional storage space, all children’s items can be stored away after use. There is also a safe spot for items that must remain out of reach of children.

Large Cruising Ground
The vessel, with a length of 9 m and a beam of 3.5 m, is a compact cruiser. A sophisticated layout and the multi-functionality of certain spaces, such as generous sleeping quarters that can be transformed into a seating area, give the boat a very spacious, bright, and practical interior. Clearance is variable - between 2.50 m and 1.90 m - and the draught is only 0.85 m. This makes also smaller waterways with fixed low-built bridges accessible, such as the waterway from Koudum to Hindeloopen. Embarking and disembarking can often be difficult and dangerous for small children. Therefore, the Young Family Cruiser has broad gangways and low-built access. This is also safe and pleasant for the elderly.

Comfort of Home
In fact, the parents enjoy the same comfort and safety on board, as they are accustomed to at home. The Young Family Cruiser has four fixed berths: A 2-person bed for the parents in the front, and beds for two large children or three small children aft. Two additional berths can be created in the lounge for larger families. One of the two benches can be transformed into a 2-person bed. The table can be folded away. The transformation takes only a minute.
