The package assumes a one-day intensive private sailing course with maximum 4 passengers, and a 6-day rental of a Fox. Following the fun one-day crash course, filled with practical and very diverse exercises and situations, the renters will head off on their own with the same Fox on which they were trained. The price of the one-day training and subsequent 6-day boat rental of the Fox amounts to 735.00 euros (including final cleanup yacht). An additional day of training costs only an additional 150.00 euros. All in all, it is a quick way to learn to sail, more so because the course is given on the rental boat. Another benefit is that the student learns to handle an open sailing yacht as well as a cabin sailing yacht, because the Fox combines properties of both.

The Fox: Popular for its sporty attributes, comfort, and safety.

The Red Fox 22 Touring is a very popular cabin sailing yacht, built jointly by the boatyards Breehorn in Woudsend and Ottenhome in Heeg, and designed by the renowned yacht designer Jack de Ridder.

The Fox owes its popularity primarily to its fantastic sailing and manoeuvring properties, the very spacious cabin (2.50 m wide!), the orderly flush deck that can be walked on over its entire length and width, and the advantageous rental rate and sale price. The cabin contains 4 generous berths. The boat is extremely stable and safe. It offers unequalled fascination on the water to tourist yachtsmen as well as competition yachtsmen, notably due to the aqua-dynamic underwater hull. All sailing functions and the outboard engine in the well can be operated from the large cockpit. The Red Fox 22 Touring FE is outfitted with high-quality Strenger ironwork. The sail inventory is supplied by the renowned sailmaker Gaastra Sails. The yacht has a 90 cm-deep keel, designed specifically for sailing on lakes. The monospace interior is easy to clean. Sail and Bicycle
You can bring along (folding) bicycles on the boat. Folding bicycles are ideal since the space on a boat is limited.

Marinas, Moorages
You will encounter moorages and marinas everywhere along your route, such as free moorages of the provincial organisation Marrekrite, for instance. These are also marked on the nautical chart of Friesland. You can also moor in the centre of a village or city. In that case, you will have to pay dockage to the harbour master of the municipality.

The Rental Agencies
The yacht rental agencies, affiliated with Friesland Holland Tourist Information for this purpose, rent out fully equipped and well-maintained yachts that are in good technical condition. The yachts are inspected before every rental period.

Friesland Holland Assistance
Should you unexpectedly encounter a malfunction and route: Do not despair; the yacht rental agency will be there shortly! You will receive its phone number when you make the reservation.

Number of Passengers
A Sportive Sail Cruiser is suitable for a pleasant stay for 1 to 4 persons (see specifications of boat). The available space per person obviously depends on the number of passengers, their age and size.

Almost Everything Aboard
The Friesland Holland yachts are outfitted comprehensively. You will be provided with an inventory list when making the reservation. A copy of this list can be found on board. The only items you have to bring along are household linen and bed linen (kitchen towels, bath towels, regular towels, washcloths, bed sheets, pillowcases, blankets, duvets, covers, sleeping bags). You can also rent these linen packages.

Sailing is Maintaining the Peace
Sailing with a Friesland Holland yacht does not require a navigation certificate. However, you must be able to operate a motor yacht in order to rent one, and you must know how to sail in order to rent a sailing yacht. Furthermore, you must be familiar with the traffic rules and etiquette on the water. A landlubber with a drop of seaman’s blood in his veins will have no problem sailing all lakes and canals with these easy-to-operate yachts. By sailing at a moderate speed, you will avoid worries and have plenty of time to enjoy the trip.

Instant Gratification
Already when leaving the charter marina, the view from the deck or the cockpit consists of lakes and pastures as far as the eye can see. You will instantly enjoy Friesland’s unique nature, culture, and quiet. On your cruise, you will encounter cosy little towns and waterside villages, sites rich in history and sights. Proper nautical charts and brochures of Friesland Holland will guide you on your trip.

The Weather
Friesland is renowned for its clean air (from the sea) as well as its variable and mild weather. Sunshine will always follow the rain. In any case, even less agreeable weather should not spoil your trip, as the Friesland Holland holiday guides contain an abundance of cultural sites and attractions (also for children!), special eateries, and cosy pubs. A tip: Enjoy the outdoors when it does not rain, and leave the indoor attractions for when it rains cats and dogs.

Parking
You can park your vehicle at the marina, on the property of the yacht rental agency. Consequently, you do not have to lug heavy luggage over long distances and your vehicle is parked in a good spot.

Aqua Policy
The Aqua Policy offered by Friesland Holland is a comprehensive policy that guarantees a worry-free holiday on a motor yacht. The Aqua Policy also entails cancellation insurance.

Payment in Instalments
50% of the reservation amount must be paid within 14 days following the invoice date. The remainder (50% of the reservation amount) must be paid ultimately six weeks before the arrival date confirmed by Friesland Holland on the invoice. In the event of last-minute reservations, for which advance payment is impossible, the rental price or package price must be paid in full at departure.

All-risk Insurance
Friesland Holland yachts are insured against all risks for travel on the Dutch interior waterways.

IJssel Lake
Lake IJssel is a cruising ground for experienced skippers on vessels that are suited for rough seas.

Beginners and renters of small yachts are strongly advised to avoid Lake IJssel.

Excess = Deposit
As far as the all-risks insurance is concerned, excess (= deposit) is obviously at the risk and expense of the renter. The amount of the excess depends on the yacht rented and the renter, but it ranges on average from 300.00 to 500.00 euros. The deposit for the Sportive Sail Cruiser amounts to 250.00 euros.

The deposit, equal to the excess, must be paid to the yacht rental agency when embarking on the yacht. The yacht rental agency will refund the entire amount when the ship you rented is returned free of damage and clean. If the ship or the inventory is damaged, the damage will be subtracted from the deposit.

Cleaning
The yacht rental agency provides you with a clean ship and would like to see it returned clean. The costs of the final cleanup are included in the package price.

Pets
Bringing pets on board requires the permission of the yacht rental agency. Some yacht rental agencies do not allow pets on board at any condition. Consequently, please inform us when making the reservation if you want to bring your pet along.

Fuel, Gas, and Water
At departure, the yacht rental agency will provide you with full tanks of fuel and water (if applicable) and a full gas bottle (if applicable). Consumption is at your expense. Therefore, you must return the boat with full fuel and water tanks at the end of the rental period (if applicable). Oftentimes, you will be able to refill the tanks at the yacht rental agency or in its immediate vicinity. Gas consumption (if applicable) must be paid to the yacht rental agency.

Hiswa or ANWB Contract
For the purpose of this package, the yachts are rented from a Friesland Holland yacht rental agency by means of a Hiswa or ANWB rental contract. You must respect the terms and conditions, of which a copy will be provided. By reserving this package, you automatically agree to comply with the Hiswa or ANWB terms and conditions.
